Testimonials from Previous Buyers…
Dear
Pauline
Just a note to say we are delighted with our two
youngsters. With so many lovely ponies to choose
from we will be back to get another in a few years
time. Thank you for all your help and advise with
the transport.
Kind Regards
Janet Cox
When you buy a pony from Pauline McLaren you know
it's done right from handling to breaking, and it's been
done quietly - nothing's been forced on them, they go at
their pace. Having had 2 ponies broken by Pauline, I've
seen how they totally trust her. I couldn't recommend
her enough.
Tall Tales Paddy
Bought as a four year old in the
autumn of 2003, Paddy's first ever competition was a BHS
Le Trec in which he came 3rd. He then competed in RC
competitions over the winter and won three out of four
leagues, finishing as leading horse and rider overall.
This led to his first ODE in which he came 4th. Paddy
competed successfully in showing and WH classes that
summer, together with attaining his bronze shamrock with
ILDRA. He was sold on to Natasha Moore as a 6 year old
and competed successfully with the SJAI, Eventing
Ireland and Pony Club. He has recently been purchased
as a schoolmaster by the Viscount Rothermere for his
children and is happily living on a 3,500 acre estate in
England.
CV Kestrel
Kes was bought as a four year old in
August 2005 having already gained 20 Dressage Ireland
points in the spring when ridden by Pauline McLaren. He
has been brought on slowly and currently competes in
Riding Club competitions, having won at the RC
Championships. He has competed successfully in WH and
was placed in his first ever two-phase competition. He
has gained both bronze and silver shamrocks with ILDRA
and, following his summer break, will further his career
with NI Dressage and compete in showjumping and WH
competitions. I am looking forward to the arrival of
CROSSOWEN JOY in the autumn who will hopefully become
the foundation broodmare at Blackabbey.
Thanks
for selling Lochlann to me - love him to bits - I fell
for him when you emailed me the photos of him when only
a few days old!! Now we have him home he's all I hoped
he would be, athletic with great movement and a big
personality. I have had to take the jumps down after we
ride our other connemara Gardenvale Girl - otherwise
when he is loose in the school he jumps them for fun -
so far he has jumped a parrallel of 70cm and a straight
up of 75cm - not bad when he isn’t even a year old!!
Such a pity he has to wait till he's three for the loose
jumping at Clifden!! Thanks again.

Dear Pauline,
Its been
a few years now since I bought Beauty from you, but
when I'll be looking for a connemara again you will
be the first person I will contact as I know you are
a very honest person with an incredible eye for good
stock. I know you wouldn't sell a horse that wasn't
100%.

Dear Pauline
Thank you for all your help and support with our
pony Crossowen Storm. We are absolutely
delighted with her. She has turned out exactly
as you said she would and exceeded all our
expectations. I will certainly recommend you to
any of my friends looking to buy a Connemara
pony in the future.

Just like to thank you for allowing Laura
and I to have Alfie.
We were looking for an up to height older
pony than Alfie’s then 4 years and he had to
be quality enough for my daughter Laura to
compete at county level and riding club
dressage but quiet enough for her old mother
to hack about on. Alfie managed to tick all
the boxes apart from his age but due to
Pauline handling and upbringing we both knew
as soon as we tried him he would suit us
just fine. 2 years on we still love him to
bits and have had lots of success with him.
When Alfie was advertised Pauline priority
was he would go to a special, preferably
long term home. I hope we will have Alfie
for life and am sure he is going to provide
us with a lot of pleasure in the future. If
I am ever looking for another pony I would
not hesitate to return to Pauline. I
consider her to more than the person who
sold me a pony. I consider her to be a
friend who is interested in how Alfie is
doing and who I can ask for advice.

I bought my foundation
broodmare Last Rose of Drumconelly from Pauline
in 2004 she was in foal to CV Cashel and
produced a beautiful colt foal, she is the best
mare i have ever owned and will never sell her,
since the I have bought 4 other connemaras and
part breds from Pauline and I am delighted with
them all Ii always go to Pauline if I need any
stock before I look elsewhere and she has given
me so much guidance and is always been so
helpful to me.
Thankyou very Much. All my love from Clare ( The
Edenwood Stud )
I purchased a pony from Crossowen Stud
and can wholeheartedly recommend Pauline
McLaren as a vendor of quality Connemara
ponies.
I had ample opportunity to view the pony
that I was interested in both at the
yard and at shows and was impressed by the
pony's breeding , confirmation and type.
Most encouraging however was the pony's
disposition and manner. This was quite
clearly the result of the encouraging and
kindly way in which she had been brought on
and handled. All the youngsters that I have
viewed at the yard and subsequently at shows
have proved to have had that 'kindly
disposition'.
Pauline took the time to explain the pony's
breeding lines ,its past ,what it had done
,etc. I received the paspport and paperwork
on collection and everything was in order.
The transaction could not have been
smoother. The stud keep in touch on a
regular basis to enquire about how the pony
is doing and remain 'interested' in her
progress.
I have no hesitation in recommending the
stud as a referral point for those looking
to purchase ponies and have indeed
referred persons successfully in the past.

Dear Pauline
Allan and I are
absolutely delighted with the two foals we
purchased from you in 2006 (Crossowen Jay) and 2007
(Crossowen Twinkle). Both ponies have superb
temperaments and were well handled and
confident youngsters when they arrived in
Scotland.
Your support and
advice over the last two years has been
invaluable to us and is very much
appreciated. It meant so much to us both
that Andrew, Robert and yourself traveled
all the way from Augher to watch Jay compete
at The Royal Highland Show.
We would have absolutely
no hesitation in recommending you to anyone
looking to purchase a pony.
With many thanks
Linda & Allan Gerrard,
Aberdeen
